Carl Frampton's legal proceedings against Barry McGuigan have commenced in the High Court in Belfast.
The hearing began in front of Mr Justice Huddleston today, and is based around alleged earnings in excess of £4 million, with Frampton claiming purse money is still owed to him.
Legal representatives for McGuigan have previously denied the allegations by his former protegé.
Gavin Millar, representing Frampton, spoke today of how their relationship began to deteriorate in 2016. it was a year before the once tight relationship broke down completely.
The case is scheduled to last for 2 weeks.
At 22, Frampton started training with McGuigan and would ultimately live and train with him in McGuigan's family home in Kent.
The lawsuit also references broadcasting rights, merchandising and ticket sales from Frampton’s second world title bout against Leo Santa Cruz in Las Vegas in 2017, when Frampton lost his world title against the Mexican in a narrow, bruising encounter.
