Ward is captain of the Irish boxing team, who endured a largely disappointing day at the tournament.
Flyweight Conor Quinn, welterweight Kieran Molloy, and lightweight George Bates all lost their respective semi-finals, and will take home bronze medals of their own.
However, heavyweight Kiril Afanasev will compete in tomorrow's final after being awarded a walkover.
