Football | John Delaney resigns from FAI with immediate effect

The Board of the FAI announces the resignation with immediate effect of Executive Vice-President and former CEO John Delaney. Statement to follow.

 Delaney has been involved in a number of scandals, and increasing pressure has been mounting on the former CEO in the wake of a string of damaging revelations from Mark Tighe and the Sunday Times.
 
 The 51-year-old had been on paid leave pending a review into FAI affairs, and he has now parted ways with the association.
