Tottenham Hotspur have appointed Thomas Frank as their new head coach.
Frank has signed a three-year deal with Spurs after a successful seven-year spell at Brentford. The 51-year-old German replaces Ange Postecoglue, who was sacked earlier this month despite leading Spurs to Europa League triumph.
The North London club finished 17th in the Premier League, losing 22 league matches, and finishing just one place above the relegation zone.
"In Thomas we are appointing one of the most progressive and innovative head coaches within the game," a club statement read.
"He has a proven track record in player and squad development and we look forward to him leading the team as we prepare for the season ahead."
Andreas Georgson joins as an assistant coach from Manchester United, who finished just one place above Spurs in the league and lost the Europa League final to Postecoglou's men.
Three of Frank's background team at Brentford have also made the move to North London. Assistant coach Justin Cochrane, analyst Joe Newton, and head of performance and assistant coach Chris Haslam will all join Frank at his new club.
Brentford finished the season in 10th place, 18 points above Frank's new club.
Frank's first competitive game in charge will be the UEFA Super Cup clash with Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain on August 13th in Italy.
