Football | Aubameyang's prolific record for Arsenal

.@Aubameyang7 has never had so few shots but has never been so clinical with them. He's converted one in every three attempts in 2018. pic.twitter.com/aLDk8uEPfh — David Wall (@1DavidWall) October 23, 2018 Believe it or not, Aubameyang has scored more league goals than Harry Kane since joining the Gunners. In fact, only Mohamed Salah has scored more goals (17) than the Arsenal forward since the Gabon native made the switch to North London. Overall, he has scored 18 goals in just 24 appearances for the club. Add in his five assists to date, and he's been involved in 23 goals in 24 matches. His excellent form has arguably been overlooked outside of North London due to Arsenal's struggles last season, and with all of the negativity surrounding Arsene Wenger and the club, the striker's exploits are only being recognized now that the Gunners are on an impressive run in the league. However, he scored a Premier League goal on average once every 104.6 minutes last season, the best ratio of any player to have scored a minimum of 10 goals. Aubameyang also became the first Arsenal player to score five goals in his first six games for the club. He ended his first season - having only signed in January - with 10 goals and four assists in 13 Premier League appearances. It has been a fantastic start to his Arsenal career for Aubameyang, but one criticism of the Gabon international is that he has yet to score against any of England's top teams. However, he has often proven his worth against the big teams with Dortmund in the past, and scored against Spurs in three separate European encounters for his old team. In-form Arsenal face Sporting Lisbon in the Europa League on Saturday, before taking on fellow London club Crystal Palace at the weekend. The North Londoners will then face Liverpool in their next Premier League game. The Gunners will want to make a statement against the Reds, and the game will offer Aubameyang a chance to show he can deliver against the Premier League's best teams. Arsenal are on a roll, and so is their prolific striker. His goals will have a huge impact on whether they can maintain this blistering form, and where they end up in May.
