Football | Buckley expects tight game as Bohemians travel to Sligo

Fifth placed Sligo Rovers take on second placed Bohemians this evening, as The Gypsies travel to The Showgrounds, hoping to bounce back from last weekend's home defeat to Waterford United, in John Sheridan's final game in charge.

Sligo will be hoping to climb back into a European spot after their visit to Inchicore last week, when they left with a point after a 0-0 draw with St. Patrick's Athletic.

Manager Liam Buckley has spoken of the tight margins that can be expected in the game.

"This is another six-pointer, a good result could put us right up there again. We have to eke out as many results as we can, it is something we’ve said to the players from the start of the season. It makes all the difference. This is a stiff test, but one we are looking forward to.

"We’re expecting a tight game. One thing we would like to do compared to last week is keep possession better and use it better. That sort of improvement will be important."

The game will see 100 spectators permitted to attend and Buckley said that he was delighted to welcome the teams supporters back, even if it is only a small fraction of what his side are used to.

"Having 100 of them behind us will mean something. In this short truncated season, we have to be grateful for every occasion.

"We know there’ll be plenty watching on television and online so we’re going to try to put in the performance for them as well."

The match kicks off at 7:45 and will be live on RTÉ 2.
