Crystal Palace have beaten Manchester City 1-0 in the FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium.
Eberechi Eze scored the game's only goal in the 16th minute as the Eagles claimed their first-ever FA Cup and their first major trophy.
Dean Henderson was the hero for Palace. The English goalkeeper saved a penalty from Omar Marmoush in the 36th minute, but was fortunate to still be on the pitch after handling the ball outside the box in the 24th minute.
City, who were appearing in their third successive FA Cup final, dominated the majority of the match, boasting 79% possession and attempting 17 shots, but they were unable to find a way through Oliver Glasner's side's disciplined defence. Palace had to survive 10 minutes of injury time, in which Henderson was forced to make two saves from City substitute Claudio Echeverri, with Kevin De Bruyne also going close for Pep Guardiola's men.
Victory secures Europa League qualification for Palace, while Pep's City side will now end the season without a trophy for the first time since the 2016/17 season.
Match report
City made a bright start at Wembley, with Erling Haaland going close in the sixth minute. The Norwegian got a toe to De Bruyne's excellent cross, but Henderson produced a superb reaction save to deny the City striker.
Palace took the lead 10 minutes later. Eze's goal was the result of a flowing counter-attack from the Eagles. Jean-Philippe Mateta held the ball up expertly on the half-way line before feeding the ball out wide. Daniel Muñoz galloped forward down the flank and his teasing cross was met by Eze, who produced a fine volley into the bottom corner to break the deadlock.
Ismaïla Sarr then forced Stefan Ortega into a good save from another Muñoz cross soon afterwards as Palace sought to double their lead in London.
The match's most controversial moment happened in the 24th minute when Erling Haaland raced through on goal. Henderson came out to meet him and appeared to handle the ball outside the box, with replays confirming that he did. The Palace 'keeper avoided a red card for his actions.
Soon afterwards, City were awarded a penalty after a clumsy tackle on Bernardo Silva by Tyreek Mitchell. Henderson guessed the right way, saving down to his right from Marmoush before denying Haaland from the rebound. He was called into action again before the interval to keep out Jérémy Doku's curling effort.
City renewed their assault after half time, and Daichi Kamada produced a heroic block to deny Silva an equaliser after good play from Doku.
Muñoz had a goal ruled out by VAR just before the hour mark after his shot was deflected into the net by Sarr, who'd been standing in an offside position.
City pushed desperately for a way back into the game, but Palace held firm to record an historic victory for the club.
