Everton have confirmed the appointment of Carlo Ancelotti as manager on a four-and-a-half-year deal.
Ancelotti, who watched the Toffees' scoreless draw with Arsenal from the stands on Saturday, replaces Marco Silva, who was sacked earlier this month, at Goodison Park.
Everton have endured a miserable start to the season, with Italian Ancelotti inheriting a team who are 16th in the Premier League table and just three points clear of the relegation zone.
Ancelotti won the Premier League, FA Cup and Community Shield during his two-year spell at Chelsea, and has also won league titles in Spain, Germany and France.
The Italian, who was sacked as Napoli manager earlier last week, has also won three Champions League titles as a manager.
Duncan Ferguson has been in charge of the team since Silva's dismissal, with the former striker's status up in the air following Ancelotti's arrival.
"This is a great club with a rich history and a very passionate fan base," Ancelotti said.
"There is a clear vision from the owner and the board to deliver success and trophies.
"That is something that appeals to me as a manager and I am thrilled at the prospect of being able to work with everybody at the club to help make that vision a reality.
