Football | Frank Kelleher confirmed as Cork manager

Frank Kelleher is Cork City’s new first team manager.

Kelleher, who represented Cork as a player in the 1980's, and was manager of the Cork City women’s team that won the FAI Senior Cup in 2017.

More recently, he served as the Cobh Ramblers academy manager.

John Cotter, who has been managing the Leesiders since John Caulfield’s departure, will become the first team’s head coach.

Cotter is currently on a course to attain his UEFA Pro Licence, and FAI rules state that no manager without this licence can manage a club in the league for more than 60 days.

Cork have opted for a similar set up to that in place at Dundalk, where Vinny Perth is head coach and John Gill is first team coach,

“It’s great to be back wearing the badge again,” he said.

“I’m a Cork City supporter, this is my club and I’m delighted to play a part for the rest of the season," Kelleher said.

"It’s an honour and a job I will not be taking lightly."
