Football | Krzysztof Piatek's incredible start to the season

🇵🇱 Instant impact! New Poland star Krzysztof Piątek scores his first international goal ⚽️#NationsLeague pic.twitter.com/0vfvSAxg3I — UEFA Nations League (@UEFAEURO) October 11, 2018 He made his debut in the 1-1 draw against the Republic of Ireland in Wroclaw, but had to wait until his second start to score his first international goal. In fact, the Boys in Green are the only team at club or international level to stop Piatek from scoring this season. Piatek rose highest from a corner in the 18th minute and powered his header into the net to give Poland a 1-0 lead. His emergence is a welcome relief for the country, who have been struggling for form in recent months. Lewandowski hasn't scored in his last five international appearances, and Arkadiusz Milik has also failed to reproduce his best form in a Poland jersey of late. Piatek is the main source of optimism in a difficult time for Poland, and has another chance to stake his claim when his country face Italy on Sunday evening. He's showing no signs of slowing down.
