The former England international was part of Pulis' coaching team, and made 112 appearances for the club as a player. A fan favourite and former captain at the Riverside, Woodgate retired at 'Boro in 2016 before immediately moving into a coaching role at the club. However, Liam Rosenior has reportedly turned down a role on Woodgate's new coaching staff. 'Boro will be aiming to improve on last year's seventh place finish, which saw them miss out on the play-off positions by a point.
