Football | Roma winger Cengiz Under set for Leicester switch

Leicester City are hoping to bring Turkish winger Cengiz Under to the club, in what could be an initial loan deal with a commitment to buy at the end of the season.

Under is set to link up with Brendan Rodgers side in the coming week as the terms and conditions of his contract are ironed out.

A loan deal with a fee of £2.7M has apparently been agreed, but talks continue as Roma press Leicester to commit to buying Under in a year.

Under was also linked with Manchester United earlier this summer, along with Steve Bruce's Newcastle side who had inquired about taking the player on a loan deal.

The draw to Leicester in a deal that would see his deal transfer into a permanent one, is believed to favour the Serie A side.

Under arrived at Roma from Istanbul Basaksehir in 2017, with the 23-year-old scoring seven times in 26 Serie A appearances.

Last season though he only made 10 starts, with injury a definitive factor.

Leicester opened their campaign in fine style last weekend with a 3-0 away win to newly promoted West Brom, with the evergreen Jamie Vardy scoring a brace of penalties.
