The Republic of Ireland's Euro 2020 play-off against Slovakia will be played behind closed doors in Bratislava due to fears over the coronavirus.
Ireland fans will be issued a full refund for the match, which will still go ahead on March 26th. It's believed that over 2,000 Irish fans purchased tickets for the Boys in Green's crucial clash in Bratislava.
Yesterday, the Slovakian government announced a 14-day suspension of all sporting events in the country in a bid to combat the spread of the virus.
"The Republic of Ireland’s UEFA EURO 2020 Play-Off against Slovakia on March 26th will be played behind closed doors on the instruction of the Slovakian government," an FAI statement read.
"The decision has just been relayed to the Football Association of Ireland by the Slovakian FA following a directive from their government.
"All fans who purchased tickets for the game in Bratislava will be refunded."
The virus continues to threaten football around Europe.
A Linfield player has tested positive for COVID-19, and the Serie A is in danger of being abandoned due to the severity of the virus in Italy.
French games are being played behind closed doors, as are multiple Champions League and Europa League matches.
