Football | Spurs complete Bale and Reguilon signings

Spurs have confirmed the signings of Real Madrid duo Gareth Bale and Sergio Reguilon.

Bale returns to the club where he spent six years on a one-year loan deal, with Spanish left back Reguilon joining Spurs on a five-year deal for a fee which could rise to £32m.

The Wales captain, 31, left Spurs seven years ago to join Los Blancos for a then-world record £86 million fee.

Spurs will pay about £20m in wages and loan fees for the four-time Champions League winner.

"It's nice to be back. It's such a special club for me where I made my name, what an amazing club with amazing fans, it's incredible to be back," Bale told the club's website.

"Hopefully now I can get some match fitness, get underway and really help the team to win trophies.

"I always thought when I did leave that I would love to come back one day, the opportunity has now arisen and I feel like it is a good fit at a good time.

"I am hungry and motivated to do well for the team. I can't wait to get started."

Bale, who scored three goals in 20 appearances for Madrid last season, will wear the number nine jersey at Spurs.

Reguilon, 23, was named as La Liga's best left back last season after an excellent season on loan at Sevilla.

The Spanish international's move to Spurs is reported to include a buy-back option for Madrid, which can be exercised for the first two years after his move to England.

The former Madrid duo join fellow summer signings Matt Doherty and Pierre-Emile Højbjerg in North London for Mourinho's first full season in charge.
