"We felt it was necessary to act now in order to give the new manager as much time as possible to try and achieve that goal." Former Premier League winning manager Pellegrini eventually guided the Hammers to 10th in the league last season after a worrying start to the campaign, and there was considerable excitement at the club following the acquisition of Sebastien Haller and Pablo Fornals ahead of this year's campaign. However, the Chilean has now paid the price for West Ham's alarming drop in form. Next up for the Hammers is a home clash against struggling Bournemouth on New Year's Day.
