League of Ireland | Trevor Clarke to join Rotherham

Trevor Clarke is on the verge of a move to Rotherham.

The Shamrock Rovers midfielder is expected to complete a reported €120,000 move to the League One club subject to a medical.

Clarke, 21, won't be included in Rovers' Europa League squad for this week's first-leg qualifier against Apollon Limassol in Tallaght on Thursday.

The former Republic of Ireland U21 international's contract with the Hoops was set to expire at the end of the season.

Clarke joined Rovers in 2015 after a spell at Middlesbrough, and was first capped for Ireland at U15 level.

"Trevor is over doing his medical today so it could done today or tomorrow," Rovers manager Stephen Bradley confirmed today. "He's been brilliant for us, a great kid and I wish him nothing but success. Hopefully, it will all work out for him.

"He definitely has the qualities, it's just a lot else has to fall into place. But I wish him the best and like I said, hopefully the medical goes OK today, and that will be him."
