Rugby | Healy to miss rest of Six Nations

Cian Healy's hip injury has ruled him out of the rest of the 2020 Six Nations.

The Ireland prop limped off in the first half of Sunday's loss to England in Twickenham, and will now miss Andy Farrell's men's remaining games against Italy and France.

Ireland's defeat to Eddie Jones' hosts ended their Triple Crown and Grand Slam hopes for 2020 after their opening two wins over Scotland and Wales.

Leinster star Healy, who has won 98 international caps to date, was on course to win his 100th cap in Ireland's final match of the tournament against Grand Slam hopefuls France in Paris.

Ireland's next Six Nations match is scheduled for March 7th, but their meeting with Italy at the Aviva Stadium is under threat due to concerns over the coronavirus.

Healy will be targeting a return for Leinster's Champions Cup quarter-final clash against Saracens on April 4th in Dublin, but no timeframe has yet been given for his comeback.

Elsewhere, Wales have lost star winger Josh Adams for the rest of the tournament.

Adams, who scored a hat-trick of tries in the reigning Six Nations champions' 42-0 whitewash of Italy, suffered an ankle injury in Wales' 27-23 defeat to France.
