Garry Ringrose has been ruled out of the British and Irish Lions third Test match against Australia in Sydney this weekend.

Ringrose missed last week's dramatic 29-26 win over the Wallabies in Melbourne with concussion symptoms, and hasn't recovered in time for Saturday's final Test at Accor Stadium.

“Unfortunately, Garry has been ruled out of this Test match, but we have Mack, Joe, Sione all out there running today," assistant coach Andrew Goodman confirmed.

The Lions have already won the series after back-to-back wins over Australia in Brisbane and Melbourne, respectively. A win this weekend would see them complete their first unbeaten series since 1974.

“He’s disappointed as you can imagine,” Goodman said. “Garry was playing some amazing rugby through this tour and someone who it’s been a dream of his for so long to represent the Lions and he’s managed to do that. But he wanted to be a Test-match Lion so it’s been devastating for him.

“He’s disappointed for himself, but he’s getting around everyone and making sure he helps prepare everyone as much as he can.”

Leinster and Ireland star Ringrose was praised by the Lions head coach Andy Farrell and others in the game for speaking up about his concussion symptoms ahead of the second Test.

Joe McCarthy has returned to training after picking up a foot injury in the First Test, and Mack Hansen is also back in contention for Saturday's Sydney clash.
