Rugby | Ireland decide not to appeal Aki ban

Ireland have decided not to appeal against Bundee Aki's three-week suspension. The IRFU confirmed the news in a statement, means that Aki's World Cup campaign regardless of the outcome against the All Blacks on Saturday. Aki was handed the ban following his red card in Ireland's final Pool A game gainst Samoa. "The Ireland Management will not appeal the sanction handed down to Bundee," the statement said. "We are disappointed with the outcome and believe that Bundee's time will be best served helping prepare the squad for its remaining RWC19 fixtures." The IRFU has also revealed that Sean Cronin has been ruled out through injury, and that Rob Herring has subsequently been flown out to Japan to join the squad. Cronin will miss the rest of the tournament due to a neck muscle injury. "Sean aggravated a pre-existing neck muscle complaint and has been ruled out of the remainder of RWC19."
