Football | Finn Park stalemate of little use to UCD

Finn Harps 0 - 0 UCD

A solitary point in Ballybofey did little to assuage fears that UCD are on course for automatic relegation, in a game that handed Finn Harps the ascendancy in the race for the relegation/play-off position.

With three games left, the six points advantage Ollie Horgan's side hold over their Dublin rivals, is not necessarily unassailable. However, the likelihood is that Maciej Tarnogrodzki will shortly be preparing his UCD side for life in the First Division.

The home side had the chances to put further daylight between the two teams, with the students twice having to clear goal-bound shots off their line.

UCD were not without their chances to take the lead, Jason McClelland's second half shot well saved by Finn Harps goalkeeper Mark Anthony McGinley.

But it was Raff Cretaro who had the final chance of the night to seal all three points, but too many chances meant that the visitors managed to leave Donegal with something.

Whether it will be enough, for now at least, seems unlikely.
