GAA | Philly McMahon takes up coaching role with Bohemian FC

Dublin footballer Philly McMahon has joined Bohemian F.C. as a first-team performance coach.

"Bohemians can confirm that Dublin footballer Philly McMahon has joined the club as first-team performance coach," a club statement announced.

"We are delighted to have him on board, we welcome Philly to Dalymount Park and we wish him the best of luck in his role with our backroom team."

Bohs assistant Trevor Croly previously worked with Ballymun Kickhams defender McMahon - who has won eight All-Ireland Senior Football Championships with the Dubs -  when the GAA star worked with Shamrock Rovers as a strength and conditioning coach in 2012.

The Gypsies are in fine form in the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division, winning four of their last five league matches, and are fifth in the table after 14 matches.

Keith Long's side will travel to Ryan McBride Brandywell Stadium to take on Derry City on Friday night.
